Beautiful picture,July 9, 2011

Bought this TV for a good price and am very impressed with the picture quality. The specs are not that great; however, the picture is better than TVs costing more with better specs. About the sound, it is about as good as anything else that is 1.4 inches thick. I have not found a slim TV that has great sound. This a TV that is very pleasing to watch. The matte screen finish, 1080p, stunning colors, and good dark scene production (for a LED) make this TV and joy to use.

Good TV, small signficant hardware defect,July 24, 2011

Yes, the sound isn’t great, but it is not a reason not to buy the TV. It is for a bedroom so the sound won’t be loud anyway. Very slim design. The picture looks good, but my Direct TV feed is not clean so if I get that fixed it should be better.

My one significant problem was with, of all things, 2 screws that go from the base into the stand that supports the TV. They stripped right away and I was super-careful not to let it happen. But it did. Toshiba sent me 2 more screws free after 30 minutes on hold with them; then I was transferred to a “manager”. The first 2 people I spoke to, with a strong Indian accent (Rex was one…please-Rex??) directed me to the clearly American manager who said he’d never heard of this problem before. But he did not hesitate a second to agree to send the parts to me. They sent 2 screws. Two. I hope these 2 are of a stronger metal than the first 2. Since I plan to wall-mount this was not a deal breaker- that the TV wobbles on the stand. I can live with it until I wall mount it. But were it not to be wall mounted, this would be MAJOR. Be warned of this defect.

I found it at CompUSA for 9 this month.

Poor communications,July 24, 2011

The 40″ TV was already irreparably damaged when received.

The seller contacted the shipper. The seller requested

the shipper to pick up the damaged product after weeks

had passed. Communications were extremely poor during

this process. Attempts to contact by email were impossible.

Even after the product was eventually picked up by the

original shipper, communications to the seller have

been ignored. Inspection of the damaged product by the shipper

was by phone only.

Would NOT recommend this seller.
