Poor Picture. Not Samsung Quality.,April 15, 2011

I’ve had a Samsung 46″ TV for 3 years and been extremely happy with it so I didn’t hesitate to go with them again when I needed a small TV in the kitchen. Even though the title says 720p, I knew this model was a 1080p. It says so on Samsung’s website, on Best Buy’s website, and most importantly on the box and TV itself. However it doesn’t perform like a 1080p. The picture is terrible compared to my 46″. That goes for both regular channels and HD channels. Shouldn’t it at least appear to be better since it’s so much smaller? I have two more TV’s to buy in the near future and Samsung is definitely off my list of choices.

Samsung Delivers Again,July 7, 2011

Let me clarify that this is a 1080p and not a 720p. Picture quality on HD channels is not quite as good as my Samsung 37″ 720p, but for a small TV that is used in the bedroom this is very adequate at a very reasonable price. My only criticism is that the base does not swivel like on the larger models.

Firmware issues, sleep timer breaks the TV,May 24, 2011

This TV gave me problems from the very beginning. The picture and audio quality is OK, I’ve seen better on other brands. The picture quality is REALLY BAD on the non-HD channels. The problem that really got me to return this is a sleep timer issue. Every time I use the sleep timer, the TV turns itself off the next time you want to turn the TV on. It takes a couple of hours before you can use the TV again. It’s really annoying, you turn on the TV, you can see the picture and hear audio but 1 second later the picture turns itself off but the audio is still there. Really makes the TV unusable, unless you know you’ll be watching the TV in a couple of hours and you turn it on to have it correct itself. This disappearing picture issue only happens after using the sleep timer. Samsung tech support had me reset the TV and said that it will fix it, it did not. All in all, I’d go with something else since there are much better TV’s out there for WAY less. This is was my first Samsung, and my last.
