The Philips 37PFL5332D is pretty thin and weighs about 60lbs. The fact that the screen swivels on a stationary base is helpful when you’re plugging things into the back. Share music and photos via the built-in USB.The USB, composite and S-video inputs are all on the side so you don’t need to move the screen for things that may be only connected temporarily.
The Philips 37PFL5332D has an automatic mode that changes the aspect ratio according to what’s on screen. This function can be useful when widescreen HD programs switch to full screen commercials. But this can be annoying when a program has a very dark shot with no light on the extreme sides of the screen. But this automatic function can be turned off, so it’s no big deal. This also TV has 1:33, widescreen, zoom and superzoom aspect ratios.
The Philips 37PFL5332D also produces pretty good sound. The HDMI inputs sound noticeably better than the (right/left) stereo inputs. I haven’t used the digital coaxial output and I don’t think many stereos today have a digital coaxial input.

Pros: With built-in HDTV compatibility, this TV set can display images that are significantly sharper and more realistic than regular television, as long as the source is high definition.(It can easily render standard-resolution digital TV broadcasts and also depict the full resolution of widescreen DVD video.)The 3:2 pulldown feature of this unit reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.
Cons: Has only a rear connector location. No 4:3 mode on 16:9 HD content. A bit blurry during sports, deep blacks and sound could use help.
Suitability: An LCD HDTV, suited for home entertainment.Also, a wide aspect display such as this one is well suited for DVD movies recorded in the popular 16:9 format, as well as high definition programming.
