Technical Details
• 1366 x 768p Resolution
• 4,000:1 Contrast Ratio
• 4ms Response Time
• 2 HDMI, 2 Component Video Inputs, 1 S-Video Input
• ATSC NTSC & QAM Tuner
Pros: This set can display images that are sharper and more realistic than analog television when connected to a high definition signal. The 3:2 pulldown feature of this unit reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.
Cons: Has only a rear connector location. It is almost too bright but it can of course be changed easily. You must upgrade the firmware for the s-video signal from a pc to stop jiggling and it is still not perfect, but it could be my weak video card. The remote isn’t bad, no backlight and has a cheap feel. The button layout is nice though. The trouble with this set is the audio. It sounds *horrible*. No, beyond horrible. The speakers are located in the back, and are supposed to be “Incredible Surround” more like incredible Tin Can. Seriously, they have absolutely no low end, the mid-range is muddled.
Suitability: Suited for an small to medium sized apartment or condo living room. Also, a wide aspect TV such as this one is ideal for DVD movies recorded in the popular 16:9 format, as well as high definition programming.
Value: Given its inexpensive price, this TV has great features for the money. In fact, you would usually pay around 25% more to get a LCD TV with comparable viewable size.
