I am impressed with the ease of setup, variety of connections (one of the primary reasons for buying this brand/model), picture quality, and sound.

I wanted/needed connections for standard RCA jacks, component, S-video, and HDMI. The JVC is one of the few models that has all of these in the size (42″) and price range.

The HDTV built-in tuner worked well with the standard ‘rabbit ear’ antenna.

However, the PBS and NBC stations were not detected.

I bought the GE 24775 Quantum HDTV Antenna, an indoor antenna that uses an amplifier to improve the performance, and it picked up both without a problem.

Overall, the quality of the picture and sound, and especially the price, couldn’t be better.

Definitely recommended.

P.S. My neighbor liked the JVC better than their Sony Bravia!

The TV was a gift. Very pleased w/ the picture and sound quality. Sadly, the HDMI ports–all 3 of them–do not work w/ my Flip MinoHD camcorder. JVC is clueless. Flip is clueless. Beware of peripherals when dealing w/ HDMI!
