The 19AV500U 19″ 720p LCD TV (Black) from Toshiba is a stylish, flat panel display perfect for your bedroom, dorm-room or kitchen with its compact size. This screen can also double as a computer monitor with its available PC input. The 19AV500U has an integrated NTSC/ATSC/QAM tuner for enjoying high-definition programs without a bulky set-top cable box. This versatile display even has a single HDMI input for connecting your HD components. This Toshiba HDTV utilizes DynaLight Back Light Control for seamless transitions, deep blacks and increased depth.

Using the default settings, the picture is sharp and contrasty. There’s plenty of sound volume. The screen hardly reflects light at all, which is nice since we have a lot of windows. The Natural picture size setting chooses the proper picture width all the time.

Pros: With built-in HDTV compatibility, this unit can display images that are significantly sharper and more realistic than regular television, as long as the source is high definition.(It can easily render standard-resolution digital TV broadcasts and also depict the full resolution of widescreen DVD video.)The 3:2 pulldown feature of this set reduces artifacts that can occur when motion pictures are transferred to a digital format such as DVD.

Cons: Has only a rear connector location.

Suitability: Ideal for a kitchen or office.Also, a wide aspect display such as this one is well suited for DVD movies recorded in the popular 16:9 format, as well as high definition programming

The price was good compared to the Samsung and Sharp 19″ TV sets. The picture quality is good but the GO TO Channel display is very small and is slow in changing channels.
